Lauren Rutan is CrossFit athlete, personal trainer, nutritionist, weightlifting champion, wife, and mother of 4. She was just crowned the 2017 NPC National Women’s Physique Champion.
Yes, she is now a PRO and we couldn’t be happier for her.
The IFBB Physique division started in 2013 for women who want to prepare heavier, bodybuilding-style body but not extremely dried, lean and muscular, yet athletic and aesthetically pleasing.
They display their athletic development of the musculature, balanced and symmetrical development of all muscle groups, and their sports condition along with quality.
We nailed her down for some Q&A’s even though she has the most hectic schedule.
What was your diet when you were competing?
Lauren Rutan: Very strict lean meats, rice oatmeal, red potatoes and green veggies. 5-6 small meals a day.
Do you have any “secrets” to bodybuilding success that you would like to share with everyone? Can you tell us a little bit about the life of a bodybuilder?
Lauren Rutan: The secret is to go hard in the gym. Harder than you would ever imagine.
What do you do from the time you to the time you go to bed?
Lauren Rutan: Basically, wake up workout eat sleep workout eat sleep lol. Everything is planned out and very specific times you eat and workout. Everything is very precise. You live and breathe the lifestyle.
